This was worked on three-and-a-quarter mm needles and Jane really was knitting for a while - to the point of weariness, to be honest. But she kept going and I think she's done well by any standard.  But if you take into account that she's a beginner,  that this is only her second project and first baby garment, she's done more than well. And then there was some quasi help over an alcohol fuelled festive dinner, and somehow she still continued to make such a cute end product - nothing short of miraculous...
