Non Custodial Orange Wishes

Slight variation on Uisce from Four Elements by Carol Feller

in Debbie Bliss 100% Silk

For Maureen

When we were children, real oranges were quite a big deal. Orange drinks and sweets were my favourite too, and I always loved the elemental warmth of the colour orange, whether ochre or tumeric or any other shade...although for some reason product descriptions around bathrooms have made me less keen on "peach" (personal prejudice but it just gives me the pip) (arf).

To me, even the letter “O” spells optimism, okie-dokie, roly-poly, open skies and wheels… Orange prison garb is about the only fly in the ointment I can immediately think of in a world of life buoys, saffron, winter fire, Buddhist enlightenment and Chinese transformation.
